Ronald James Overstreet, lovingly known as Pop, passed away on May 13, 2024, at the age of 66. He was born on May 4, 1958, in Hampton, VA, and remained a lifelong resident of the area.

After a lifelong career, Ron retired from Newport News Waterworks. He took great pride in his work and was always willing to lend a helping hand to his colleagues.

In his free time, Ron enjoyed a variety of hobbies to include fishing and assisting countless people with fixing just about any problem they might have needed a hand with.

What brought Ron the most happiness in life was to surround himself with friends and family. He also adored his pets and considered them to be cherished members of his family.

Ron was the proud father of two children, David and Jennifer.

Ron was also a grandfather to five grandchildren, Cody, James, Macey, Sean and Kyle along with one great grandson, Nixon.

Ron will be deeply missed by his surviving sisters, Shirley, Judy, Mary, Betty, his lifelong companion Mary Ann, as well as his extended family and friends. There are many who viewed Ron as a father figure or brother. His willingness to help anyone in need and his kind and generous nature will be remembered by all who had the pleasure of knowing him.
