On December 10, 2020, shortly after moving to Yorktown, VA to escape the snow and cold of Syracuse, NY, our beloved Rose Marie (Roffo) Vollmer (84) gained her wings and joined both family and friends in Heaven. Known as Rosie, RoRo, or Gigi, she passed peacefully in her sleep by the light of the Christmas tree among family. She was preceded in death by her parents, Marco and Theresa (Giarizzo) Roffo, and siblings, Dom, Joey, Augie, Michael, Jennie, Carm and Lucy. Rose cared deeply for her daughters, Linda (Chris) Coolican and Susie (Brian) Mcginn, and estranged son, Paul (Maureen) Vollmer. She is survived by her children, 10 granddaughters, and 7 great grandchildren. Rose was a graduate of Blodgett Vocational High School in Syracuse, NY. She enjoyed spending time with her family and friends, entertaining others with her dance moves, sewing amazing costumes and dresses, tending to her garden, and completing the world’s most complicated puzzles. Rose was known for her wicked sense of humor, charm, and love for others. Rosie, RoRo, Gigi is terribly missed, but we have faith that she is surrounded in love by those who preceded her and is leading a fantastic dance party in Heaven. A memorial service will be held in Syracuse, NY at a date to be determined in the late spring of next year.
