Rosemary Arcieri, 93, of Newport News, VA passed away peacefully into the arms of her heavenly Father on August 13, 2023. Born April 15, 1930, she was the daughter of Varak and Mary (Bizdikian) Meserian and grew up in Hartford, CT. She lived 40 years in South Windsor, CT before moving to Williamsburg, VA. Rosemary was a 1949 graduate of Hartford Public High School and retired after 29 years from the Connecticut Department of Labor as an unemployment claims interviewer. She was a lifelong member of Center Church First Church of Christ in Hartford, where she taught Sunday school. In Virginia, she was a member of the Women’s Club of Toano, Norge Women’s Club, and Red Hat Society. Her heartfelt passion was creating hand-made greeting cards of which many of her relatives and friends were blessed to receive, along with personal messages. She loved theater, dancing, Armenian food, visiting yard sales with her late husband and most of all watching UCONN basketball. Rosemary was preceded in death by her parents; beloved husband, Joseph J. Arcieri; and sisters Zabelle Haroian, Elizabeth Hawkins, Kohar Torino and Anne Loftice. She is survived by daughter, Barbara Sadler (Kevin); granddaughters, Alana Davis (Trevor) and Tara Codekas (Christopher); great grandchildren, Ollie, Jenson, Levi and Piper; and many nieces and nephews. She was cherished by her family and all who knew her – especially for her joy and her style.
