What a wonderful person Ross McCloud was! I have known Ross and his family for over 30 years. He was smart, thoughtful, talented, devoted and always a delight to be with. I admired his love of God and family. Nothing but fun/happy memories and I know he's resting in peace and singing with the angels. Much love to my Sherrie, Jonathan, Dawn and Mark. I know you all have so many wonderful memories to cherish and praying they will help carry you during the upcoming days, weeks and beyond. I am so thankful our paths crossed.

When I flew out of Quito by myself for the first time, I had memorized and written down all my flight numbers and seat numbers and locations, so I would be as prepared as possible when I transferred to Delta in the U.S., to fly on to Chicago. Ross worked for Delta at the time, and he met me at the gate, which was a stabilizing comfort for a kid in their first international flight alone. There was hardly any time, as boarding had already begun, when he asked to see my ticket. I handed it to him and he looked a bit concerned, and said, “hang on, I’ll be right back” left, came back, handed it back to me relieving my concern with, “No, it’s okay, don’t worry - Have a great flight!” And he waved me on. I thanked him and said it was great to see him again, and quickly boarded, handing my pass to the flight attendant. Heading back toward my seat, I was stopped before I got to coach and was redirected to my now First Class seat — thanks to Ross. 🥰 He will be missed. I have fond memories of the whole McCloud family from growing up in Quito in the 60’s/70’s, and am grateful to have had FB to have enabled reestablishing and maintaining contact with them in the years since.
