Sandra Sandhaus Jones, 83, of Chesapeake, Va passed away on December 22, 2023, after succumbing to Multiple Myeloma. Sandra was born in Columbia, Pa. She is predeceased by her mother, Josephine Lentz Sandhaus; her father, Albert David Sandhaus; her brother, Ronald Lee Sandhaus and her son-in-law, Thomas V Fleming (Kelley). She is survived by her loving husband of nearly 63 years, Henry Jones; her daughters: Kelley Fleming (Jeff Gidley) Virginia Beach, VA, Ronna Baumgartner (Jim) Harleysville, PA, Stacey Hudson (Kevin) Austin, TX, and her five grandchildren: Ian, Jillian, Nicole, Isabelle, & Matthew. Sandra is also survived by her sister, Sherry Lenhart (Jay) of Columbia, PA, and her neices and nephews.
Sandra was a loving wife, mother, and grandmother. She was a HS Cheerleader, Brownie Troop Leader, crafter, #1 fan and supporter for each of her daughters’ high school endeavors into Winter Guard, Softball, and Cheerleading. Later, she took great pleasure cheering on her grandchildren in soccer, field hockey, and cheerleading. Sandra was known for her art and crafts talents. She did quite well selling her jewelry in juried art shows throughout PA. In her later years, she became an accomplished watercolorist and an avid reader fiction novels. Her crafty talents live on through each of her daughters.
The family would like to thank the her wonderful caregivers Michelle Gutierrez and Margaret Ellis, truly angels on earth as they cared for our mother as if she were their own and the Westminster Canterbury Hospice team: Megan, Lori, and JoJo. The family would especially like to acknowledge and thank their long time neighbor and friend, Marylou Weiss, NP, former Paliative Care Nurse, for her love, support, and thoughtful guidance throughout the hospice Journey.
Sandra was a Breast Cancer survivor and an Ovarian Cancer survivor, before Multiple Myeloma cancer finally won. In lieu of flowers, please consider donating to the American Cancer Society in Sandra’s memory. Services in celebration of Sandra’s life will be held at a later date.
