Sara Jennifer Smith Kincaid, 88, of Newport News, passed away on January 6, 2021, at Riverside Regional Medical Center. She was the daughter of Lyle M. and Marian M. Smith.
For nearly 30 years, Jennifer was employed by the Sarah Bonwell Hudgins Center, serving those with intellectual and development disabilities, as the education principal in programs for infants, school-aged children and adults. She later served as director of the organization’s Vocational Center. After her retirement, the Jennifer S. Kincaid Education Center building was named in her honor.
She enjoyed touring in the family’s RV and camping at the beach, watching Nascar, playing the piano and flute, and going to symphony concerts.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 59 years, Ernest L. Kincaid. She is survived by her two sons, Nick Kincaid (Debbie) and Charley Kincaid (preceded in death by Hope).
She was known as “Grammy” to her two grandsons, Nathan (Loren) and Anthony (Sarah); one granddaughter, Michelle (Jaime) and seven great-grandchildren. She is also survived by many other dear family members, friends and neighbors.

The Cremation Society of Virginia-Newport News is in charge of arrangements.
