Sarah Ann Cunning Norton, 94, died September 12, 2016 after a long illness. She was born in Roanoke, VA on July 17, 1922 and was the daughter of Ruby Echols Cunning and Harry F Cunning. The family moved to Norfolk, VA where Sarah Ann grew up. She graduated from Maury High School in the class of 1941. She attended Fairfax Hall Junior College in Waynesboro, VA. In 1949 she married Jack Norton and as he was in the Navy they lived at his various duty stations. They had one daughter Sarah Ann Norton of Savannah, Georgia who survives her. Sarah Ann moved to Virginia Beach with her daughter in 1962 where she sold real estate and later became a stockbroker with J C Wheat. Sarah Ann had many friends who appreciated her keen sense of humor. Her funeral plans are to be determined.
