Sarah B. Hogge, 83, passed away quietly at home, with family by her side, on Monday, March 1, 2021. She was born May 5, 1937, in South Carolina, to Luther and Mattie Mulkey.
Sarah moved to Dare, VA to raise her family of three sons and a daughter. She loved seafood and opened Sarah Hogge’s Seafood Restaurant in Poquoson, VA. She also loved to travel, golf and ballroom dancing. When she retired, she travelled and settled in West Palm Beach, FL, where she could golf year round. In 2016, she returned to Virginia, where she could spend more time with family.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Luther and Mattie Mulkey; two sons, Ricky and Joey Bryant; daughter-in-law, Victoria; five brothers, Billy, Dwight, Derrel, Kenneth and Jack Mulkey and her sister, Mildred (Mickey) Hogge.
Left to cherish her memory are daughter, Sandra Driver (Gary); son, Randy (Kim Whitley Jordan); seven grandchildren, Andy, Brandice, Myra, Sarah, Rachel, Cody and Logan; nine great-grandchildren, Shianne, Maia, Layla, Liam, Daniel, Jessie, Lochlan, Cassandra and Elijah; sister-in-law, Martha Ann Mulkey and several nieces and nephews. The family would like to give a special thanks to Martha Ann, Shanan, Meredith, Andy and Gary. You helped more than you know.
Due to COVID, a Celebration of Life will be conducted at a later date.
Cremation Society of Virginia-Newport News assisted the family with their arrangements.
