Sarah Betty Turner Reveley, 82, went to be with her lord on April 11, 2015. She was born in Lexington, NC on February 24, 1933. Betty was the daughter to Joseph Frank Turner and Margaret Mauney Turner. She was an exceptional person who was respected by all who met her.
She was predeceased by her mother and father, and her beloved brother Charles. She leaves to cherish her memory her loving husband John, sister-in-law Sue Turner, and numerous nieces and nephews. She also leaves behind a special friend Jean Shepard.
Betty graduated from high school in New London, NC and attended Lenoir-Rhyne College in Hickory, NC. She lived in Durham, NC and then moved to Norfolk, VA. She was a preschool teacher for many years. She married John Reveley on August 26, 1978 at Miles Memorial UMC. They became members of Haygood UMC. Betty was a member of the Barbara Rieder Circle and the Faith Bible Class where she was an assistant teacher. She was also a Duke Basketball fan.
A memorial service will be held on Sunday, April 19th at 2 pm with a reception to follow at Haygood UMC. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to Haygood UMC. Online condolences may be expressed at vacremationsociety.com
