Savitri Devi Malhotra, 100, passed away peacefully on July 29, 2023, in Newport News, Virginia. She was born in Multan (undivided India, now Pakistan) on January1, 1923.

She lost her husband, Om Prakash Malhotra when she was twenty-seven years old and was left to raise three children on her own. With grit and determination, she fulfilled her husband’s dream to provide their children with higher education. Her eldest son, Ved P. Malhotra, became a professional Engineer, her second son Vijay K. Malhotra attained the title M.D. and her daughter, Shashi B. Malhotra received higher education.

Her children’s spouses, Neelam Malhotra and Kash Batra were the joy of her life. Her grandchildren; Ajay Batra, Tina Batra , Kaveeta Derossa and late Anuj Malhotra were a delight in her life. Her eight great grandchildren were a great joy of her life and gave her immense respect and care.

She had a wonderful life and lived it with dignity, courage, pride and always a smile on her face. She will be sorely missed, and her sweet memory will sustain us for our remaining years. She taught us a lot as to how to live a clean and meaningful life. She was a noble soul.
