February 9, 2021, Mom/ Nan Dies from Stubbornness, Salty popcorn
Sharon Winchell died at age 73, after sitting through an entire movie fighting through shortness of breath, she just wanted to enjoy her unsweet tea, watch Denzel Washington & eat her popcorn.
The way she died is just like she lived: she wrote her own rules, she fought through her illnesses and she paved her own way. And if you said she couldn’t do it; she would make sure she could.
Born in Massachusetts, right out of high school she joined the Women’s Army Corps. After the Army, she finished her master’s degree. Then fulfilled a life as a licensed Real Estate Broker. She dedicated her life to real estate and to her daughter, Rainy- Lee and grandson, Devin.
Sharon, was a woman of God, loving, caring, and was very determined to see things be done the “right way”. One of her favorite quotes/ scripture verses was “Honor your father and your mother, that your days may be long in the land that the LORD your God is giving you”. I was reminded of that every day!
Sorry Mom, I couldn’t give you your last wish of a Viking funeral…
Until we see each other again!
