I was saddened to learn of Sharon's passing from my step-daughter Liz and her husband Don Braden. I did not know Sharon, but I am so moved as I read her obituary. I admire her service: to God, to our country, to all in her own life and beyond through her commitment to help others with cancer. I know her family must be so proud of the meaningful and caring life she lived. May their memories of her bring them joy along with a challenge to do unto others as she did. Jeanette Gordon

Beautiful Sister in Jesus Exemplified speaking and deeply sounding the Word of the Lord from love and understanding rather than simply quoting Scripture weekly in our prayer group. And with her soulful singing voice, she undoubtedly will be “Teaching Angels How to Sing.”(Dottie Rambo) Sharon listened carefully every time we were all together. She would hold back until the last person spoke and then speak words of life, and inspiring encouragement, even when she, with cancer, had lost her beloved son so suddenly the day after Thanksgiving. She only ever thought to be an instrument of the Lord. Even when she learned of her cancer, she decided to do a podcast to help anyone who would listen to help people navigate doctor-speak, or the feelings that are rollercoastering through a person when the diagnosis is first uttered by doctor, then by self. She openly walked through some incredibly humbling confessional moments as an act of trust in the Lord’s forgiveness and grace as an example to others walking that last path journeying toward Jesus. She taught people how to die by example. There will be absolutely nothing between her and Jesus as a barrier on her part as she has already greeted her Savior and love of her life. That is a golden, every day lesson for us all.
