Died August 9, 2020 (age 55)

Beloved wife, daughter, sister, mother and grandmother passed away with complications of a stroke at Sentara Virginia Beach General Hospital surrounded by her loved ones. Sheri was “Gigi” to 5 beautiful grandchildren aged 1 to 5 years old.

She had lived in the Tidewater area since 1978, and graduated from Bayside High School in Virginia Beach. She married her high school sweetheart, and they raised their children in Chesapeake.

Surviving family: Husband Tim Hess, daughter Autumn Oliver, son Justin Hess, mother Carole Spencer, father Charles Spencer, her 5 grandchildren Kaiden, Lawson, Abigail, Colton and Leya, her sister Chrissy Marple, and three step-siblings; Greg Spencer, Yvonne Vickery, and Steve Spencer.

The family’s heart is broken. She touched so many people’s lives and was such a kind and loving friend to everyone’s life she touched. The world is certainly dimmer without her here.

I use to work for Kempsville building materials, Sherri and I were coworkers. I just found out yesterday that Sherri had passed. I was heartbroken, she was one of the most beautiful people I've ever met in my life. Lord we've truly lost a beautiful Soul. My condolences to the family. R.I.H Sherri. Your Brother forever Jay.

My heart breaks for the family and friends who loved Sheri, Mom, and Gigi. I miss my Co-Grandma and friend dearly and will cherish our times together for the rest of my life. I loved her from the moment we were first introduced and am so grateful for having her as my Co-Grandma, a true gift from God. Where life passes, memories carry on forever....Gigi you will always be in our hearts, love you to the moon and back.

I was shocked and saddened to hear the news of Sheri’s death. She was a ‭+1 (336) 951-8266‬ Reidsville, NC dear neighbor and I have missed her since I moved. I pray that all of you will find peace in knowing that she is in a better place. I am praying for all of you. Annie Lou
