Chincoteague- Shonna L. (Moore) Toomey, age 47 passed away peacefully on Monday, March 19, 2018 at Riverside Regional Medical Center in Newport News, Virginia.  She was born August 1, 1970, in York, PA, to the late James M. Moore and Geraldine L. (Chivers) Woltman.  She was a 1988 graduate of York County Vocational Technical School.  She worked as a Dental Assistant for Dr. Hunger, was a pampered chef consultant, and worked at Giant Food Stores.  Shonna had a passion for cooking and caring for foster children.  She was a loving and caring person.  She is preceded in death by a step-brother; Dana Woltman.  She is survived by her daughter, Holly Toomey; son, Jacob Toomey; step-father, Leland Woltman; step-sister, Deana (Woltman) Lockner; brother, James Moore; sister, Sandra Woltman; granddaughter, Myah; grandson, Cole; one niece, nephews, and cousins.  Family, friends, and others whose lives Shonna touched are invited to a memorial service, Thursday, March 29, 2018, at 2 pm, at American Legion Post 159, Main Street in Chincoteague.  Reception to follow at the post.  In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Alzheimer’s Association, 6350 Center Dr. Suite 102 Norfolk, VA 23502.
