Sonja Marie Belcolore (nee Austin) passed away on March 22, 2024, in Newport News, VA, at the age of 81. She was born on December 12, 1942, in Louisville, Kentucky. Sonja was a loved food sampler for Costco and enjoyed her time spent with her colleagues. She was a graduate of Tinley Elementary, Manley High School, and Butler Adult Education, all in Louisville, KY.

Sonja was known for her love of shopping, watching game shows on TV, spending time with her family, and bird watching. She was a cherished member of Resurrection Lutheran Church.

Sonja is survived by her sons, Wayne Ford (Judy), and Mike Gill; grandchildren, Brian Zwak (Melody), Josh Ford (Emily), Heather Rogers, and Amanda Ford; and great-grandchildren; Ayla Zwak, Ayane Zwak, Rey Rogers, and Reilynn Ford. She was preceded in death by her husband, Louis Belcolore; sisters, Margaret Pulley, and Jean Dixon; and brothers, Rob, Jack, and KD Austin.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to the American Cancer Society or Alzheimer’s Association.

Sonja will be deeply missed by all who knew her, and her memory will be cherished by her family and friends.
