Stanley Carpenter of Portsmouth, VA, a devoted husband, father, grandfather, and great grandfather passed away peacefully on Thursday, January 9, 2025.
Born on May 18, 1949 in Chelsea, Massachusetts he was the son of the late Richard and Gladys Carpenter. Stanley lived a rich life with love, adventure, and a deep appreciation for the great outdoors. He is survived by his loving wife of 23 years, Amy Carpenter, whose companionship brought him endless joy and their playful dog, Penny.
Stanley was a passionate outdoorsman, finding solace and excitement in hunting and fishing. He cherished every moment spent in nature. His zest for life and adventure will always be remembered by his family and friends.
Stanley was an amazing father and though he faced the sorrow of losing his beloved daughter Barbara in 2023, he remained a steadfast source of strength and inspiration for his family. Barbara and Dave welcomed children Dylan and Karys. Stanley is also the proud father of Ricky, who welcomed son, Cohen with spouse, Stacie. Stanley is also survived by daughter, Melissa.
Also in Stanley’s immediate family, he is survived by daughter Donna and spouse Danny. Donna and Danny’s family include their children Kaitlynn and spouse Kurt, as well as their son Daniel and partner Mckenzie. Kaitlynn and Daniel blessed Stanley with 7 great grandchildren, Emmalyne, Eli, Elliotte, Easton, Sailor, Crosby, and Penelope.
In addition to his immediate family, Stanley is survived by his beloved sisters, Dorothy, Janice, and Tara, along with many nieces & nephews who will miss him dearly.
Stanley’s gentle spirit, warm hearted nature and love for his family will be profoundly missed. A remembrance will be held at Gino’s Pizzeria on Saturday, January 25, 2025 from 2-5 PM 1479 General Booth Blvd Virginia Beach, VA 23454. Cremation Society of Virginia, Chesapeake Office, is serving the family.
