Stephanie Mitchem, 36, received her wings early on the morning of December 16, 2023 surrounded by her family after a nearly three-year battle with leukemia. She was born on May 6, 1987 in Virginia Beach to Tina Haynie and Robert Weakley, Sr.

Stephanie was such a positive light in this world, selfless and never judgmental of others. She was an amazing wife and mother, always putting her family’s needs before her own, even during her illness. She will be dearly missed by all who knew her.

Left to cherish Stephanie’s memory are her loving husband Jack Mitchem Sr., children: Jackson Mitchem, Jr., Savannah Weakley, and Robert Mitchem; mother, Tina Haynie; father, Robert Weakley, Sr.; step-father, Jeff Haynie (affectionately her Jeff fafa); brothers and sister: Timothy Airington, Kristi Airington, and Bobby Weakley, Jr.; an especially close cousin Matthew Kuzminski; best friend, Victoria Farmer; and numerous relatives and friends.

A celebration of life will be held at 6:00 p.m. on Monday, January 22, 2024 at Family Choice Funerals and Cremations located at 5401 Indian River Road, Virginia Beach, VA 23464.
