Stephen Charles Brummitt, 51, of Norfolk passed away peacefully in his home on September 15, 2010 after a long, courageous battle with emphysema. Steve was born and raised in Massachusetts, and later settled in Norfolk, Virginia, where he worked as a machinist for many years. Steve was a kind and generous person who loved spending time with his family and making people laugh. He also enjoyed playing softball, listening to music and playing the trumpet.
Steve will forever be remembered by his mother, Glenn M. Brummitt; his sister, Susan E. Chrislip, husband Thomas; beloved children Timothy Brummitt, Lauren Brummitt Winstead, husband Dwight, and Emily Brummitt; treasured grandchildren Liana, Isaac, Megan and Tristan; and numerous other family and friends who were blessed to know him. He was predeceased by his father, Charles L. Brummitt.
