Stephen Michael Lemmer, born on November 22, 1961, in Omaha, Nebraska, passed away peacefully on April 15, 2026, in Lanexa, Virginia, at the age of 64.
Stephen was a dedicated and hardworking individual who spent his career as a supervisor at the New Kent Recycling Center. His commitment to his work was matched only by his devotion to his family and his many interests.
Stephen found joy in the simple pleasures of life. He was an avid fisherman, enjoyed playing darts and cards, and could often be found swimming or shooting pool. His love for music was evident in his talent for playing the drums. Above all, he cherished going on family vacations, creating memories that will be treasured by those he leaves behind.
He is survived by his beloved wife, Carol Lemmer; his loving children, Amanda Lemmer and Kyle Lemmer; and his cherished grandson, James Lemmer. He also leaves behind his devoted mother, Lynne Lemmer, and his dear sister, Carolyn Lemmer. Stephen’s family was completed by his faithful dog, Rocky Lemmer, who brought him much companionship and joy.
Stephen was preceded in death by his father, Eugene “Mike” Lemmer; his aunt, Ellen Winkelman; his uncle, Chuck Winkelman; and his beloved pets, Coda, Pepper, and Pita Lemmer.
At this time, no services have been scheduled. The family appreciates the outpouring of love and support during this difficult time and asks that Stephen be remembered for the joy and kindness he brought into the lives of those around him. His memory will live on in the hearts of his family and friends forever.
