Steven A. Hall, also known as Butch/Pappy transitioned from his earthly home on Tuesday, November 3, 2020 after a lengthy, rare blood disorder. He was born in Dillon, South Carolina on March 18, 1946. He moved to Hampton, Virginia where he spent the majority of his life. Steven was preceded in death by his father, Bruce Elias Hall; mother, Helen Alice; and only sister, Lola Horton. He is survived by his wife of 47 years, Judy; daughter, Sherri; and 2 grandsons, Jonah and Eli.
He attended Hampton High School and served in the U.S. Army as a Green Beret Special Forces Paratrooper while serving in the Vietnam War. He had a love of NASCAR and had the ability to tinker and fix anything and everything that had an electrical or mechanical problem as well as working on classic vehicles.
The family would like to thank Dr. Scott Kruger and his team at VOA for all the years devoted to making Steven’s life better. They were a true blessing in his time of need. In addition, the family extends gratitude and would like to thank everyone for all of the acts and kindness, thoughts and prayers during this time.
