Sue Addair, 79, passed away on Thursday evening November 30th in Virginia Beach surrounded by her loving family. Sue was born August 29, 1944 to James and Naomi Camp in Virginia Beach, Virginia. She was a graduate of the ONLY Virginia Beach High school, as well as a graduate of Old Dominion College. She was a school teacher throughout most of her life retiring from the Virginia school system.
Sue had 2 children, David and Ryan. Along with them, left to cherish her memory are her 4 grandchildren: Benjamin, Madeline, Aiden, and Lily. Also to remember her, a brother “Jimmy”, his wife Jane, daughter-in-law Tera, and many loving friends.
Sue enjoyed teaching, but loved being retired and spending time with her friends and grandkids even more. She enjoyed her trips with “Sassy Seniors”, going to lunch and yoga with friends, and playing her infamous “Barefoot and Wild” game through the wee hours of the night.
Sue was also known for being sassy at just the right time, all things pink, and her love of the magical flamingos that she wanted us all to chase on the good days.
On Sue’s relaxing days, she loved to craft, garden, and of course cook WAY too much food for anyone that needed it (or even if they didn’t). She was known for her tasty cakes, pies, and sweet treats, and always to share with others.
A celebration of life is to be held on Dec 17th from 10am-2pm at 1888 Somerton Place (Avondale Apartments Clubhouse). Please bring your favorite “Sue” dish to share along with your best “Sue” story to tell. In lieu of flowers, please feel free to make a donation to the Union Mission at https://donate.missiondc.org
