Susan Garrett Morgan, 72, passed away at her home on May 17, 2021 surrounded by her loving family. She was predeceased by her parents, William and Catherine Garrett, and her brother, Michael Garrett.
Left to cherish her memory are her husband of 43 years, Raymond Morgan; sons, Jonathan Morgan (Gabrielle Thies) and Christopher Morgan; brothers, Richard Garrett (Janine) of Houston, TX, and Joseph Garrett (Tracy) of West Palm Beach, FL; and many extended family and friends.
Susan graduated from Old Dominion University with Bachelor’s of Science in business. She held multiple positions during her more than 25-year career with Sentara before retiring as the office manager for Emergency Physicians of Tidewater. She was a longtime member of Hampton Roads Church. She made the world’s best preserves from the strawberries she and her husband picked in Pungo. Susan was a very caring and giving person, always thinking of others before herself. She had a beautiful spirit and lived her life with kindness and compassion. She was a devoted wife to Ray and a phenomenal mother to her sons. After retirement, she enjoyed meetings with SAGE, the ladies group at her church. She also enjoyed growing vegetables in her box gardens and snuggling with her cats. She will be dearly missed by all who knew her.
The family would like to give special thanks to Dr. Alberico and the staff of Virginia Oncology as well as the staff of Sentara Hospice for the wonderful care they provided Susan.
A memorial service will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations can be made to the Dept. of Emergency Medicine EVMS or SAGE (c/o Hampton Roads Church – 1132 Pickett Road, Norfolk, VA 23502).
