Susan Story Pittman of Richmond, VA died March 1, 2025, at the age of 78 after many years living with Alzheimer’s disease. Ms. Pittman was born in New York on August 2, 1946, to the late Babs and Harold Story. She is survived by her two daughters, Jennifer Bailey (Christian) of Virginia Beach, VA and Katie Purcell (Tom) of Mountain View, CA; her four grandchildren Nathan, Dylan, Daisy, and Theo; and her brother Robert Story of Palm Springs, CA.
Ms. Susan Story Pittman graduated from the State University of New York, Stony Brook in Education and later went on to receive her Master’s degree in Adult Education from Virginia Commonwealth University, where she found her calling. She began as a counselor for cooperative education and eventually went on to become the director of the Career Center at VCU, retiring in 2012. She truly loved helping students find their path to their own successful careers, and she made many close friendships throughout her time at VCU.

Her daughters would like to express their gratitude to the nurses and staff at Memory Care of First Colonial Inn of Virginia Beach, as well as Willow Gardens in New Rochelle, NY for their love and care of Susan over the last few years.
