Susanne Faville Wilson (Aunt Susie), 81, of Virginia Beach, VA, passed away unexpectedly on February 27, 2025.
Susanne was born on April 7, 1943 to Alvin M. and Georgina B. Faville in Norfolk, VA. After graduating from Norview High School in 1961, she went on to study Elementary Education at Old Dominion University.
After graduation, she landed her first teaching job in Norfolk, VA at Norview Elementary where she taught kindergarten for many years alongside her favorite sister-in-law, Linda Faville (Pooh). Susanne dedicated her life for over 30 years to Norfolk Public Schools, impacting the lives of countless students and fostering a lifelong love of learning.
Susanne enjoyed cruising, playing the slots, relaxing on the beach (and beach sleeping), gardening, enjoying fellowship with her extended family at Community United Methodist Church and spending time with her very best friends that were more like sisters to her. Susanne embodied compassion, generosity, and selflessness, always lending a helping hand to everyone that she knew. She lived life in a big way and loved her friends and family with her whole heart.
Susanne is predeceased by her parents and her brother, William T. Faville. She is survived by her two nieces, Amy (David) and Lori; and four great grand nieces and nephews, Heather (David #2), Eric, Aiden and Kennedy. Aunt Susie was their biggest cheerleader and provided love and support that transcended generations. She is also survived by her beloved Canadian cousins.
A celebration of her life will be held on Saturday, April 5, 2025 from 11:00 am – 3:00 pm at her favorite spot down by the bay in Willoughby Spit. Parking assistance will be provided upon arrival. We look forward to sharing this special day with you as we remember and celebrate Susanne.
