Theresa Diane Esposito, 67, of Norfolk, Virginia, passed away peacefully at home, Tuesday, December 31, 2019. She was the daughter of John Joseph Esposito (formerly of Staten Island, NY) and Mary Lee (Thomas) Esposito.
She grew up in a military family where she had many opportunities to live in various countries; Hawaii, France, and the US (North Carolina and Virginia). She graduated from Granby High School, Norfolk, VA and attended/ graduated from Louisburg Junior College and Old Dominion University (ODU). She was a member of St. Pius X Church in Norfolk, VA and was employed by the Parks and Recreation Department, Norfolk, VA and University of Montana, Helena, MT over the years.
She was known by various names; Diane (family), Teri or Theresa (friends). After leaving home in the late 70s, she lived in various states before returning to Virginia to care for her dad and mom. Diane had many lifelong friends from everywhere she lived who loved her without boundaries. She was a free spirit, good hearted sole who loved the earth, stars, and universe. She enjoyed dancing, singing, the beach, hiking, nature, and animals.
Diane is proceeded in death by her father, John J. Esposito. She is survived by her mother, Mary Lee (Thomas) Esposito of Norfolk, Virginia (formerly of Moncure, NC); life partner, Jim Baluch of Norfolk, VA; two brothers, John J. Esposito, Jr. and wife Mary, Mark G. Esposito and wife Donna all of Apex, NC; 2 nieces, Brittany (Zack Cockerham) of Apex, NC, and Courtney of Roanoke, VA; 2 nephews, Alexander and Zach both of Charlotte, NC; great-nephew, Greyson of Apex, NC.
Funeral Service will be held at 2:00pm on Saturday, January 25, 2020, at the Haywood Independent Bible Church in Moncure, NC by the Reverend Greg Little. Family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the church; burial will follow in the church cemetery. Friends and family are invited and welcome to continue to celebrate Diane’s life following the service/burial at the home of Mark and Donna Esposito in Apex, NC.

Virginia Beach, VA, or your local ASPCA.
