Tim Sawyer of Virginia Beach, Virginia, passed away Friday, June 24^th, 2016, at the age of 67. After graduating from Granby High School, Tim joined the Army, serving with distinction as an artilleryman. After leaving the Army, he attended Western Washington University and became a teacher. Tim taught in overseas schools for many years; while teaching in Turkey he met the love of his life, his devoted wife Semra. Tim eventually returned to the Hampton Roads area, where he retired as a public school teacher. After retiring, he pursued his passion for painting, enjoying the occasional glass of wine and spending time with his beloved wife. Tim was a beautiful soul who enriched the lives of those who knew him; he was kind, considerate, humorous and fun to be with. His family and many friends will miss him terribly. Tim’s family will hold a private memorial service, to celebrate his wonderful life.
