Norfolk- Timothy Barry Wilson Sr. slipped away from his family and into the arms of his Mother, Marie Almond Sherlock Wilson, his father Eugene K. Wilson and his beloved grandmother over on the other side. Tim graduated from Princess Ann High School in 1963 and Virginia Tech in 1967. He immediately went to work for Kellogg building oil refineries in the United States and Argentina. Later he worked with his father at E.K. Wilson and Sons Mechanical, Ways Mechanical, Virtexco and his own consulting business called MD@R, standing for Man, Dog and Rabbit in honor of his beloved Yorkie Henry who loved to chase toy rabbits.
Tim left to mourn him three sons from his first marriage to Linda McKee Wilson. Timothy Barry Wilson Jr. and his wife Desiree Coleman Wilson and their son Cole. Bryan Paul Wilson and his children Samantha and Jack Wilson, Scott Wilson the father of Zavier and Ella Wilson, and his beloved Wife of 34 years Linda Yates Wilson.
Tim loved his work of mechanical estimating and was a math whiz. Late in life he learned to type and use excel on his computer but preferred to do math in his head and would never trust estimating programs. He worked constantly in his garden digging great holes and creating fish ponds, waterfalls, rock walls and laying stone over perennial beds creating massive container gardens. He loved tools and was a good carpenter who constantly remodeled his home.
Tim loved the Redskins and watched every game. One of the high points of his life was when Doug Williams led the Redskins to a Super bowl win so many years ago. After that when they lost games, changed coaches and did not make the playoffs he would go into a depression. After so many losing seasons he quit mourning their losses but still kept hope that this seasons picks and the newest coach would lead his team to victory. He will still be watching and hoping.
Tim loved little animals and asked that the ashes of the yorkies Mickey, Apple, Suzie, Henry, Jessie, Joe and his beloved but annoying parrot Rudy to be mixed with his own and scattered on Afton Mountain with his mother.
Tim wants to be remembered by contributions to the Norfolk Animal Shelter on Lance Road where he found “Charlie” his last companion.
A service of remembrance will be held with family and friends at a later date.
