As tears roll down my face,
I know you’re in a better place.
I close my eyes to see your face,
Suddenly I feel a warm embrace.
With a smile so wide,
It brings tears to my eyes.
I try so hard not to cry;
all of my pain I cannot hide.
When you lose someone, it can be hard to take
the pain that you feel when your heart has to break.
The memories you keep are all in your mind
as you search your soul for more to find.
“The reality is that you will grieve forever. You will not ‘get over’
the loss of a loved one; you’ll learn to live with it. You will heal
and you will rebuild yourself around the loss you have suffered. You
will be whole again but you will never be the same. Nor should you be
the same nor would you want to.” – Elisabeth Kubler-Ross
