Tommy Ray Jernigan, 67, passed away Wednesday night, November 27, 2024, at 9:58pm in his residence located in Chesapeake, VA, after a battle with cancer. Tommy Ray Jernigan was born on July 21^st, 1957, in Norfolk, VA, to Margie and Thomas E. Jernigan.

Tommy Ray worked as a Longshoreman for ten years before entering the Tile business until he retired. Tommy Ray enjoyed playing pool, was an avid fisherman, and a hardcore Washington Redskins Fan. He was always able to appreciate the simple things in life and looked forward to Thanksgiving every year where he ate with family and watched Football.

Tommy Ray is survived by his sister whom he lived with, Shirley Sprouse, brother-in-law, Larry Sprouse, Brother, Wayne Jernigan, Sister-in-Law, Jennifer Jernigan, Brother, Randy Larsen, Sister-in-Law, Shelley Larsen, Sister, Linda Cooley, Sister, Wanda Beiler, Brother-in-Law, Bobby Beiler, Cousin, Threasa Jones, Cousin, Marilyn Varney, daughter, Tara Ray Clark, and her husband, Tom. Tommy Ray also had dozens of nieces and nephews he adored.

A special thanks to family members, Holly Strickland, Tammy Thompson, Tommy Spivey III, and Anthony Strickland, who helped take care of Tommy Ray over the past year until he went to be with the Lord.
