VIRGINIA BEACH, VA – Vincent Joseph Corso, 81, passed away Sept. 5th, 2009 in Virginia Beach.
Born in Brooklyn, NY in 1927, he was the son of Achille and Rose Corso. He served in the U.S. Army in post WWll Occupied Japan. With his former wife, May, Vinny spent 20 years in Old Bethpage, NY raising a family before moving to south Florida for the next 20 years. He spent the last 6 years in Virginia Beach surrounded by family.
Mr. Corso had a wide circle of friends in the racing-pigeon community during a lifetime love of the sport.
Vincent will be deeply missed by friends and family including his sister, Rose, of York, PA; a son, Vincent, of Hollywood, FL; his three daughters, Diane, Laura and Jennifer as well as son, Thomas – all of Virginia Beach, along with his 9 grandchildren and Pop’s trusted dog, Bingo.
A Catholic Mass of Celebration will be held Saturday, Sept. 19th at 2pm at St John the Apostle Catholic Church, 1968 Sandbridge Rd, Virginia Beach, VA.
Cremation Society of Virginia, Hampton Roads Office is assisting the family.
