Wallace James Miller, Jr., fondly known as Jim, of Chesapeake, Va, passed away on Wednesday, January 24, 2024 at Norfolk General Hospital after suffering a major medical emergency while driving, he did not survive the fatal crash.
Jim was born on April 1, 1953 to Wallace and Josephine Miller in Norfolk, Va. He attended Great Bridge High School, but left school in 1970 to enlist in the Army and fought in the Vietnam War.
Jim was predeceased by his parents, Wallace and Josephine Miller, and his brother, Les Miller. Left to cherish his memory are his son, Frank Miller, and his 4 children: Damien, Angel, Eion and Ava Rose; his longtime partner, Wendy Camacho, and her daughter, Alma Camacho, who he raised as his own for the past 15 years. He also leaves behind two sisters, Vicki Hallowell and Mary Webb, and nieces and nephews. He will be deeply missed by Ken and Patty Myroup and their daughter, Sarah. Jim worked for their family business for 20 years. They were Jim’s ‘second family’. His 15-year-old beagle hound Shelby adored him and misses him.
Jim was born on April Fools Day, and he took that very seriously. He was a great prankster with a wonderful, dry sense of humor. He started having some medical issues after extensive shoulder surgeries, and had to slow down. But he loved fishing and camping, walking the trails at The Arboretum and lighthouses. He spent his downtime playing computer games and watching movies. When it rained he would sit on the porch with Shelby.
Jim will be cremated, and there are no plans for any service at this time. In lieu of flowers, please visit https://donors.diabetes.com to make a contribution to The American Diabetes Association.
