Walter “Lee” Parker, 72, of Newport News, Virginia, passed away on December 5, 2024, after a long illness. Lee was born on February 1, 1952, to the late William “Billy” and Arbutus Parker. He was a lifelong resident of Newport News and made his living as a commercial waterman from a very young age.

Lee was preceded in death by his parents and his brother, William “Jr.” Parker. He is survived by his son, Jeremy; Jeremy’s mother, Donna Cox; his grandson, Jeremy, Jr.; his brothers, Dennis Parker and Rodger Hudnall; and a host of nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Lee was a kind and generous man who would go out of his way to help anyone in need. His warmth, character, and willingness to assist others earned him the love and admiration of many. He will be greatly missed by his family, friends, and all who knew him.
