Wealthie Jean Mitchell, 86, passed away on Saturday, October 19, 2024 in Portsmouth, VA.  Wealthie was born in Indiana to the late Howard and Katherine Brown.  She is also predeceased by her husband of 30 years, Jerome V. Mitchell.  Wealthie was a devoted mother, grandmother and great grandmother.  She prioritized her life for her family, putting them always first.  She devoted her time to supporting her husband with his career and the upbringing of their family.  In her spare time she enjoyed bowling and often bowled with Jerome on their bowling league and she was an avid reader.  So much that she could honestly read 5 books in a week!  Wealthie enjoyed puzzle books as well. She enjoyed spending time with her daughters, granddaughter, and her great grandchildren.  She is cherished in memory by her two daughters, Kathy Williams and her husband, Dennis and Bettye Wright and her husband, Bryan; granddaughter, Connie and her husband, Sean and their two children, Brooke and Connor.
