Wesley Bruce “Dooley” Pitt, 65, passed away on September 27, 2024, in Newport News, Virginia. Born on December 11, 1958, Dooley was a man who cherished the simple joys of life, embracing the great outdoors with a passion for fishing and hunting. His loyal dog, Barney, was his beloved companion for 13 years, bringing immense joy and companionship.

Dooley is survived by his sons, Sean Pitt (Ashley R.), Wesley Pitt, Jr. (Virginia), and David Pitt (Ashley N.); along with 10 grandchildren and one great-grandchild. He also leaves behind his sisters, Brenda Gardner, Lynette Dickerson, Donna Smith; and his brother, Gary Smith; along with nephews, nieces, cousins, and an aunt and uncle.

Dooley’s love for the outdoors spending his time engaging in fishing and hunting, activities brought him peace and fulfillment.

The family will hold a private gathering to honor and celebrate Dooley’s life. His presence will be deeply missed but his spirit will continue to live on.

You left me behind. I loved you more than anything, my little brother I can't stop crying for you. Just 10 feet away from me, literally, and you were gone. I'm forever broken. Bailey loved her Uncle Dooley

I love and miss you dearly!

My dear sweet brother, my heart is so broken. I’m going to miss our visits together so, so much. I love you more than words could ever express. I have so many wonderful memories of us together. I will cherish them always. Life will not be the same without you here. Little Bailey (my pup) is going to miss seeing her Uncle Dooley. You loved her so much. Your pain is gone now, rest in the arms of our beloved Lord and Savior. Until we see each other again I will always carry you in my heart.
