I was teaching Physical Education and coaching in the local school system during the early 70s when I saw an ad in our local newspaper about becoming a nuclear worker at North Anna Power Station being built by VEPCO. I had no experience in the nuclear field, but I decided to give it a try since I felt that it would be a challenge and lead to opportunities that I wanted to pursue. I was hired at an entry level position, and worked in the station for several years. Bob had worked his way up the ladder, and became our Station Manager which is now termed Site Vice President. He offered me a job in the Training Department, and it was so fulfilling since I had missed the teaching profession. It was a life changer for me, and I owe this change to Bob for having the faith in me to accept this opportunity. On a personal note, Bob was someone that I always admired. He was compassionate and understanding, yet he was firm along with being a great leader. I still "talk with Bob" whenever I think of him, and he will ALWAYS have a special place in my heart. He was a wonderful brother. I told people that not many people were as good a person as my brother. The last few years were challenging for him and those closest to him. Along with my sisters Donna and Robin, we all 4 enjoyed a hiking week together at Robin's in California each year for a good while. I think this picture captures a lot about Bobby.
