“Joey” Vann passed away suddenly on Tuesday, August 23, 2011.
Upon his graduation from high school in Georgia, he served in the Navy, then went on to work at the Norfolk Naval Shipyard for the past 26 years.
Left behind to cherish his memory are his mother, Donna Thompson; sister, Barbara Ricky of GA; step-sister, Tanya Thompson; the love of his life, Jan Vann of Norfolk; daughter, Christina McCabe of CA; one nephew and two nieces. He was predeceased by his father, William C. Vann.
A memorial service and reception will be held at 6pm Thursday, September 1, 2011 at Joey’s home. There will be a private burial at a later date. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to the Humane Society or a charity of your choice.
Cremation Society of Virginia is assisting the family. Online condolences may be expressed at www.cremate.org.
