He was born to the late William G. Adkins and is survived by his mother Louise Whitt Adkins in Pocahontas, VA, in 1940.
Billy is survived by his beloved wife of 27 years Melinda Carole Adkins. Two step children Melinda Collard of Norfolk, VA. James and wife Michelle Whitley and children Cheyenne and Isabelle of WY. Three sons; Bryan Adkins and children Casey and Cody of Sparta, NC, and Jon Adkins and wife Tina and children Drew, Sarah, of Charlotte, NC, Gary Adkins and wife Amanda and children Justin, Brianna, and Jake. Two sisters; Betty McCarty and Mary and Art Landel of Norfolk, Va.
There will be a memorial service held at Wesley Memorial United Methodist Church on Saturday, April 2, 2011 at 11:00am
