William Payton Hudgins, Jr.

Chesapeake – William P. Hudgins, Jr., 81, passed away on February 26, 2013. He was born in Virginia to the late William and Hazel Hudgins. William was preceded in death by his wife, Margie L. Hudgins.
William was a creative man who loved all music, woodwork, and drawing. He served proudly in the U.S. Army during the Korean War. He retired from Norfolk and Southern as a railroad repairman.
Left to cherish his memory are his children, Joy Chandler, Billy Hudgins, Douglas Hudgins, Holly Wood and Lorna Fogle; grandchildren, Gene Waddell, George Stewart, Stephen and Tiffany Fogle; great-grandchildren, Kendall Stewart and Alexzander Waddell; and sister, Gloria Manseau.
A graveside service will be held at Albert G. Horton, Jr., Veterans Cemetery in Suffolk on Friday, March 8, 2013 at 1pm. Cremation Society of Virginia is handling the arrangements. Online condolences may be expressed to www.cremate.org.

My thoughts and prayers go out to the family. Mr Hudgins always treated me like one of his own daughters. I can remember every Friday night, he brought home KFC and special treats from Irwins Pharmacy for his girls. Holly, I remember a black, shiny wallet. He just loved to spoil yalland he really loved his family. His daughter, Holly and I were best friends growing up and their home was like a second home to me. He will be missed by many. God Rest his soul.
