William Rudolph Larson (Bill) passed away March 29, after a long battle with cancer. Bill was born in Appleton, Wisconsin to Bob and Jean Larson. He graduated from Lakeland Union High School in Minocqua and attended the University of Wisconsin where he received a degree in civil and environmental engineering. While working in Green Bay for Roan Salvage, he was awarded a Professional Engineering Certificate from the state of Wisconsin. Later, while working with Marine Contracting of Virginia Beach/Chesapeake, he received another Professional Engineering Certificate from the state of Virginia. Bill also obtained a Master of Business degree from Old Dominion University.
Bill was a person of good character with a strong work ethic and a keen sense of integrity. Marine contracting was his passion, but he also loved to ski. He was a member of the Mogul Ski Cub where he made many friends and where he met his wife, Cheri.
Besides Cheri, Bill is survived by his brother, Joe Larson (Mary); his nieces, Samantha Alverez, and Kelly Tielens (Tim); a nephew, Erik Larson; and grandnieces/nephews Rowen, Juniper, Serafina, Joey and Kia.
A memorial service will be held on Wednesday, April 16th at 2:00 pm at Baylake United Methodist Church, 4300 Shore Drive, Virginia Beach.
