Yvonne H. Sutcliffe – Norfolk
Yvonne Sutcliffe, 80, passed away on August 22, 2011 after a long battle with Parkinson’s Disease. A long-time resident of Norfolk, she was born in San Diego, CA on March 17, 1931 to Herschel Heckler and Helene Ann Halverson. Yvonne was an active member of Calvin Presbyterian Church in Norfolk for almost 30 years where she sang alto in the church choir and was a circle member; she volunteered for Mobile Meals of Norfolk for almost three decades. Besides her deep devotion to her family, her passions included gardening, sewing, reading, and her pets. Yvonne leaves behind two sons Patrick Sutcliffe, his wife Helma of Germany and Paul Sutcliffe and Penny Dybdal; and daughter Ann Sutcliffe Sutton, her husband Vann. She also leaves behind seven grandchildren: Alexis, Phillip, Eamonn, Brett, and Hannah Sutcliffe, Rebecca and Mallory Sutton; as well as daughter-in-law Lita Liwag, her special friend John C. Harbuck of Maryland. She was preceded in death by her granddaughter Caitlin Sutcliffe and her brother Jack Heckler. Yvonne is survived by her sister Jane Ann Robert of Whitehall, MT, and brothers David and Stephen Halverson of California. A memorial service and reception will be held on Saturday, September 10 at 11:00am, at Calvin Presbyterian Church. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to the American Parkinson’s Association, the Norfolk SPCA, or to the Calvin Presbyterian Church Music Ministry.
